SOLAR DRYING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.
As KAAA we train and educate our farmers on good agricultural practices and one of the methods that we have continually trained our farmers on is post-harvest management solutions ,where we have educated them on the solar driers and how they help minimize post-harvest loses.
Kenya Agribusiness and Agro Industry Alliance (KAAA) have for a period now been in partnership with Africa Natural Products (ANP)
ANP is a Kenyan based food processing organization which has ventured into the fabrication of solar food dehydrators tapping into the expertise of local artisans and engineers.
Together , we have been able to custom make solar driers that help small holder farmers store what they have in excess for a later use this way eliminating any post harvest loses.
Drying produce also boosts them financially because what they store for later can be value added and sold hence the farmer is able to earn a living from their produce.
As KAAA we recently distributed solar driers to women in the rural areas where we trained the women on how to dry their produce and later store for future as one of the solutions of eliminating post-harvest loses.
