The food system is a complex web of activities involving the production, processing, transport, and consumption. Issues concerning the food system include the governance and economics of food production, its sustainability, the degree to which we waste food, how food production affects the natural environment and the impact of food on individual and population health.
A set of Food systems Champions, who represent diversity in the society were announced in September 2020 to help identify and rally communities around the most powerful ways to make our food systems stronger in all regions of the world.
Among the champions announced is our very own Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Lucy Muchoki
Over the years our CEO Mrs. Lucy Muchoki has been on the front line advocating for food systems that enhance the life of the people in the society and that is why we are pleased to confirm that she was appointed as one of the members at this year’s food system champions summit for her great role in the sector.
As a food system champion she will mobilize her networks to engage in dialogues and bring about actions that enable accessible and wide-ranging solutions to overcome challenges in national and regional food systems
Together with other appointed champions ,they will work closely with the UN Secretary special Envoy to kick start activities in the build up to the summit including discussions on how to galvanize and build their networks to unleash ambitious new actions innovative solutions and plans to transform food systems in alignment with diverse local context.
